![]() A fossil fuel plant, to generate the same amount of electricity as the NorthWind Power Project, will each year release into the air 48,780 equivalent tons of carbon dioxide in addition to other greenhouse gases (a fossil fuel plant will also release 802 tons of sulfur dioxide and 1,604 tons of suspended particulate matter). The gases that fossil fuel plants emit are not only toxic to human health, they are responsible to climate change. The NorthWind project does not emit any of these harmful gases, and the energy they generate is considered clean and green. By doing its part in safeguarding the health of the environment, NorthWind is providing a legacy for the planet’s future. |
